Follow us on our UK and Ireland warm up tour. May 17th to 29th 2010
Starting on 17th May, the Follow That Fire Engine crew will embark on an exciting dress rehearsal for their expedition to circumnavigate the globe later this year: the UK360 Tour. To see where we will be and when, click here
Over the course of two weeks, the team and their fire engine will travel more than 2,000 miles around the four corners of the United Kingdom and Ireland. The route will take them from London, up to Scotland, across the sea to Ireland, back again to England and Wales, ending up on May 29th at the spiritual base of the FTFE expedition in Wimborne Minster, Dorset, which is home to several members of the FTFE crew.
Expedition Leader Steve Moore said, “We are really looking forward to this chance to get out on the road – the trip will give us vital experience behind the wheel of Martha, our trusty fire engine. We are also really looking forward to seeing first hand how the money raised by the trip will be used when we visit representatives of our selected charities: the Fire Fighters Charity, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. We also plan to drop in on the many friends we have made during the preparation of the FTFE Challenge, who have all given up their time and expertise so generously to help the expedition…and it’ll be a great chance for us to see some of our homeland before we set off to conquer the world. So, if you see us out on the road, don’t forget to give us a beep!”
